Available Scholarships:
(1) Ministry of Foreign Affairs Taiwan Scholarship Applicants must be residents of countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan. The program includes one year of Mandarin language study, followed by up to four years for undergraduate programs, two years for master’s programs, and four years for doctoral programs. Scholarship recipients receive a monthly stipend of NTD 28,000–33,000. Overseas offices announce the application guidelines in February, with applications typically accepted from February to March (subject to change). (2) Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarship This scholarship aims to encourage outstanding students from non-diplomatic partner countries (excluding Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau) to pursue undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees in Taiwan. The application period is generally February 1 to March 31 (subject to change), but the exact dates depend on announcements by Taiwan’s overseas missions. NFU Scholarship Details:
1. Qualification:
A. Freshman: New international students have to apply for scholarship when they submit the application.
B. Current students: Students who reach the scores of one’s conduct in each semester over 80 and have not received any punishment by recording a demerit and meet the following conditions.

- Undergraduate: 2nd – 4th academic years
- Master Degree: 2nd academic year
- Doctoral Degree: 2nd – 4th academic years
2. Tuition Exemption:

- Undergraduate: 2nd to 4th academic years, the average score for their previous academic year should reach over 80.
- Master Degree: 2nd academic year, the average score for their previous academic year should reach over 80.
- Doctoral Degree: 2nd to 4th academic years, the average score for their previous academic year should reach over 80.
3. Monthly Stipend:

- Undergraduate: The average score for their previous academic year should reach over 80.
- Master Degree: The average score for their previous academic year should reach over 80.
- Doctoral Degree: Students have to submit a recommendation letter or the application form with the recommendation and signature from the advisor of student’s thesis.
4. Contents of Scholarship and Duration:

- Undergraduate:
- Tuition reduction (exemption).
- Monthly stipend: The amount of monthly stipend will be decided by the commission according to the academic achievement in the submitted documents.
- Student assistant grant: All students are eligible. Awarded students will act as teaching assistants.
- Duration of application for Tuition, credit fee reduction and monthly stipend: 4 academic years.
- Master and Doctoral Degree:
- Tuition and credit fee reduction (exemption).
- Monthly stipend: The amount of monthly stipend will be decided by the commission according to the academic achievement in the submitted documents.
- Student assistant grant: All students are eligible. However, the grant will first be reserved for those who haven’t received monthly stipend and they will act as research assistants.
- Duration of application for Tuition, credit fee reduction and monthly stipend:
- Master Degree: 2 academic years
- Doctoral Degree: 4 academic years
- Undergraduate:
※ Application should be submitted by the deadline announced by Office of International Affairs. Students can apply for scholarship of one academic year each time. Students may apply for scholarship when they are current students of National Formosa University.
